Abstract
Tarentula hispanica is a known drug in Homoeopathy but it has not been used extensively. Its use has been reported in homoeopathic literature for various clinical conditions like depression, headache, hiccough, quinsy, cystitis, vertigo, otorrhoea, pyrosis, constipation, seminal emission, neuralgia of legs, cough, dyspnoea and fever. Most of these symptoms have been reconfirmed in the study conducted by Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH). Besides these, in conditions like conjunctivitis, dyspepsia, flatulence, loose stool, pain in deltoid region, pain in shoulder joints and in pimple-like eruptions it is also found useful. A total of 2794 patients were studied in this multicentric clinical verification trial under CCRH to confirm the symptoms of Tarentula hispanica, as mentioned in the homoeopathic materia medica.
